Project Baala

Project Baala

Project Baala seeks to make menstruation a non-issue in India, through specially designed reusable sanitary napkins that can be used for two years and innovative menstrual awareness workshops.

Baala (meaning young girl in Hindi) aims to tackle the main problem about female menstrual hygiene recognized in India: the expense of modern sanitary products, problem of disposal, complete lack of awareness and information and the social taboos surrounding menstruation.

The solution is designed in the form of a simple workshop. This workshop is delivered to women and young girls in areas of high need for menstrual management. Both these steps together eliminate all problems of menstruation in India. Started in 2016, we have benefitted over 25,000 women and girls in India and Nepal.
